Open Tryouts for Mite, Squirt, Peewee and Bantam players.

The Gilmour Youth Hockey Association will be holding an open tryout for Mite, Squirt, Peewee and Bantam aged players. Gilmour will be fielding 2-3 mite, 2 squirt, 2 peewee and 1bantam teams that will play in the Cleveland Suburban Hockey League. If after the tryouts it appears we can accommodate additional teams at any of the divisions we will review it at that time.

Tryouts are guided by the GYHA bylaws, which outline that Gilmour Academy and Mayfield City School District students and returning GYHA players have priority in the program if they can compete at one of the levels that are offered. We hope to include all interested players, but if selections have to be made the GYHA bylaws will be in effect. Our goal is to field AA or A level teams in each division. However, the talent level of the players trying out for the teams will be the deciding factor of the team?s actual level of play.

The tryouts will be held on the dates listed below at the Gilmour Academy Ice Arena. Mite ice sessions will be 1 hour. Squirt, peewee and bantam ice sessions will be 75 minutes. The Head Coaches of the first picked or top team at each level will direct the tryouts: The first picked or top team Head Coaches are: Mite 1- Pete Vaccaro, Squirt 1- Jim DiRosa, Peewee- Adam Zangerle, Bantam 1- Ryan Heidenthal.

Mites: 8/2, 10:30 AM. 8/3, 11:30 AM. 8/9, 10:30 AM. 8/10, 11:30 AM. 8/16, 12:10 PM. 8/17, 11:30 AM.
Squirts: 8/2, 11:50 AM. 8/3, 12:50 PM. 8/9, 11:50 AM. 8/11, 7:20 PM. 8/14, 8:10 PM. 8/15, 7:00 PM.
Peewees: 7/27, 3:00 PM. 7/28, 8:50 PM. 8/3, 10:00 AM. 8/4, 8:50 PM. 8/19, 6:00 PM. 8/24, 2:00 PM.
Bantams: 7/29, 9:10 PM. 8/2, 1:30 PM. 8/5, 9:10 PM. 8/9, 1:30 PM. 8/12, 9:10 PM. 8/16, 1:30 PM.
