The Gilmour Academy Writing Center is a place where writing is honored. We offer a non-threatening center for writing and thinking where students can participate in a writing community that offers support during the writing process. Our goal is to create better writers, not just better papers, by guiding them in identifying, understanding, and refining their personal writing processes. We offer questions in place of corrections, support instead of criticism, and understanding instead of evaluation.
The Writing Center is located in The Resource Center and is open Monday through Friday. There is a faculty consultant available to help students during each block. Students are encouraged to drop in to receive feedback on planning, drafting, editing, and revising papers on all subjects.
