The Instructor:

Mr. Tait is a Northeast Ohio native hailing originally from Lakewood. He received his primary and secondary education in, chronologically, the Montessori, public and private day contexts. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with a Creative Writing emphasis from the University of Iowa and his Master of Arts Degree in Art Education from Case Western Reserve University, with a preparatory foundation year at The Cleveland Institute of Art. He student taught in the Cleveland Public School System, his secondary level experience taking place at The Cleveland School of the Arts. He has also taught in the education program at the Cleveland Museum of Art and the University School Summer Camp. He has been teaching K-6 Art at Glimour Academy since the 1998-1999 school year. In addition, Mr. Tait currently leads the Combined Disciplines Team at the Gilmour Academy Lower School and has been involved in planning activities and professional interaction with faculty in a variety of departments, K-12. His wife, Arin Miller-Tait, is also currently a teacher at the Gilmour Academy Upper School in Social Studies and Economics.

At home, Mr. Tait is a practicing artist executing both commissions and independent work. His portfolio employs a wide range of mediums, to include paint, graphics (both digital and physical), ceramics and assemblage of found and prepared objects.
