3. Projects: One or Two spread out throughout the year
4. In-class Activities: Several will be collected and graded
5. Homework: Assignments will checked each class and periodically collected.

Topics Covered will include:
1. operations on real numbers and algebraic expressions
2. geometric concepts including area, perimeter and volume
3. communicate mathematical ideas using correct terminology and notation
4. solve one-variable equations and inequalities and interpret the solution sets
5. model situations and patterns using algebraic and graphic methods
6. graph linear functions using a variety of methods
7. interpret and use representations of data and calculate measures of center
