This class is designed to examine the role and function of stress in everyday life from a physiological, psychological, and sociological perspective. Students will gain a better understanding of how the choices they make each day affect their overall wellness. Throughout the semester students will participate in an array of exercises involving stress management, relaxation techniques, muscular strength, endurance, cardiovascular, and flexibility. Topics about taking care of one?s own health will also be discussed. This course will guide the students towards increasing their awareness of their own personal reaction to stress and building their own sense of control along with mastery over the stressors in their life. In addition, the students will learn to make good choices about their own personal wellness.
