This introductory course provides a pattern of activity that will lead to higher levels of fitness and well-being throughout the semester. Students will gain an understanding in good practice of physical fitness components designed to increase muscular strength and endurance as well as enhance cardiovascular ability through numerous exercises. Students will also increase flexibility, and improve body composition. All of these components will be tested throughout the semester. Tracking these results will be integral in helping the student gain a sense of control over his or hers own levels of fitness. Students are exposed to an array of modalities that will offer them choice and variety in their routines.
